Engineering admission at Army Institute of Technology

Army Institute of Technology, Pune, offers 300 seats for Engineering Course commencing in July 2017(120 seats in Computer Engineering, 60 seats each in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering). Only wards of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible to apply for admission to AIT.
Eligibility Criteria
Children of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible. The parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army. Detailed eligibility criteria will be published in the Prospectus being made available in February 2017.
The candidate must fulfill the age criteria requirements as per JEE Main 2017
Qualification – Class XII or equivalent (appeared or passed) with compulsory subjects as Physics and Mathematics alongwith one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject. Candidate should obtain at least 50% in each of the subjects.
Should appear for JEE (Main) 2017 examination and have acquired appropriate/required ranking as per All India Ranking List published by CBSE for admission to Engineering Colleges. (Last year’s last admitted student’s All India Ranking was 1,39,241).
Must be an Indian citizen, or a PIO who obtains Indian citizenship before admission.
Entrance Examination
AIT admission is based on the All India Ranking obtained in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE (Main) 2017). All applicants are therefore required to appear in JEE Main 2017 and also apply to AIT for Admission. Failing to fill up any one of the forms will lead to rejection of admission to AIT.
JEE (Main) Application Form
Candidates should apply for JEE Main 2017 ‘Online’ in the month of December 2016. Application form and the Information Bulletin are available on JEE(Main) website www.jeemain@nic.in. AIT does not deal with distribution of JEE Main forms and queries if any.
JEE Main 2017 will be conducted in the month of April 2017.
